Jim Chalmers – Group Editor

Jim has spent 20 years writing about telecom and related technology sectors. He served as Editor of Public Network Europe for 13 years from its inception in 1990, also managing PNE's Yearbook and Mobile Yearbook series. Jim is also the author of Pocket Telecommunications, published by The Economist Books/Penguin. In addition he has contributed to numerous publications of The Economist Intelligence Unit. Throughout the 1990s he contributed articles on telecom to The Economist's acclaimed 'The World in…' series, which is syndicated worldwide. He has also collaborated with the ADB.

 

Ian Channing – Communications Editor

Ian has been in technical journalism since 1968. Since the early 1980s he has specialised in wireless technology and mobile communications. He was the founding editor of the industry's premier mobile communications magazine, Mobile Communications International. As a freelance since 1989, Ian has written on mobile and wireless subjects for a wide variety of national and international media including the Financial Times, The Times, The Wall Street Journal, The International Herald Tribune and Newsweek, as well as many business-to-business and mobile communications titles.

 

John Williamson – Technology Editor

John BSc has been involved with the telecom industry for longer than he cares to remember. He's worked for trade publications such as Telecommunications International, Communications Engineering International, the Telephony group and Public Network Europe. Other writing credits include: The Financial Times, The Guardian, The International Herald Tribune, The Middle East Economic Digest, Newsweek, The Daily Telegraph, The Times, and The Wall Street Journal. He has also advised The World Bank on telecommunications in the developing world.
